What can you catch on a Gulf Inshore Fishing Trip?

Many people mistakenly think there are less fish to catch when fishing inshore. However, inshore Gulf fishing allows to you many of the popular fish that you can also catch offshore. Inshore fishing is within a few miles from the shoreline, but the accepted rule is water less than 30 meters (about 98 feet) deep is considered inshore fishing, while deeper than 30 meters is offshore fishing.

A few popular types of fish you can expect to catch on an inshore Gulf fishing charter include Cobia, Red Snapper, Amberjack, Red Fish, King Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, and Black Snapper.

Inshore fishing doesn’t mean it’s a lesser trip. It actually means you are getting more fishing time because the transit time to and from the fishing locations are much shorter than with offshore fishing trips.
